The Hero Electric Optima was launched on 16th October 2020 in India. The automobile company had launched three electric scooters in this segment under the City Speed range– Hero Nyx-HX, the Hero Optima-HX, and Hero Photon-HX. The Hero Electric Optima is an eco-friendly electric scooter. It is offered in four variants- the Low-Speed series have Optima LI and Optima LA and the High-Speed series have Optima ER and Optima E5. It is a two-seater scooter that gives a comfortable seating experience even on long drives. The electric scooter is available in three exciting colors- Matte Red, Cyan, and Matte Grey. The Low-Speed series Optima is powered by a BDLC motor of 250W and is available with a Lithium-ion battery and Lead Acid while the High-Speed series Optima is powered by a BDLC hub motor of 600W/1200W. Both the High-Speed series, the Optima E5 comes with a single battery and the ER comes with a dual battery. The battery range of the low-speed series is 50-65 km (based on the battery type). The E5 and ER have a battery range of 55 km and 110 km respectively. The Hero Electric Optima was announced under the “City Speed” segment of the Hero Motors electric scooters. The other two electric scooters launched alongside the Hero Electric Optima are the Photon-hx and Nyx-hx.
The CEO of Hero Electric India, Mr Sohinder Gill, launched these electric scooters as an affordable and economic option especially for cities that had heavy air pollution like Delhi.
