The first thing one of my close relatives bought with her stimulus check was a robot vacuum. It was a little ironic given this is someone who has spent an alarming amount of time reading conspiracy theories about big tech, AI, and that frightening robot named Sophia. But, while the sample size is rather small—as in, just one—this only proves that everyone, at some point, is willing to succumb to these autonomous robots if it means you can complete one of the most strenuous household chores, vacuum cleaning, without breaking a sweat.
Robot vacuums can dust and clean every tile of your home while operating quietly and safely. Plus, you can basically boss them around. (More on that later.) They’re often pricey, but they do go on bigtime sale from time to time, like right now on Amazon where you’ll spot some of the best robot vacuums by iRobot, Anker's eufy, and Shark at up to 40 percent—read: hundreds of dollars—off.
We’ve loaded some of the best robot vacuum deals on Amazon here. And we promise that besides being smart, self-charging, and effective at cleaning for hours at a time, these robots are all very peaceful. No risk of robot uprising, all you need to do is put your feet up when they come at you.
iRobot, perhaps the best-known consumer robot brand, has a line of robotic vacuum cleaners called "Roomba". Each Roomba is equipped with sensors to navigate the floors and detect obstacles. They can exterminate stubborn dirt and dust from carpets to hardwood floors through stages of loosening, lifting, and suctioning. And they're all smart—i.e., they'll learn where the kitchen is, when you want the living room to be cleaned, and what your voice for commands sounds like.
Eufy by Anker, for one, has a slimmer (but still suction-powerful) helper that you can configure to clean only the areas you want. Roborock's S5 Max will take mopping off your chore list too to ensure your floor is as spotless as it was when you first moved in, now for $150 less. ILIFE's V80 Max is another well-rounded one that'll clean what and where it's supposed to clean, with four modes for different types of messiness. And Shark's IQ robot features one of the most advanced home mappings systems to take care of your house, row by row, for a hands-off cleaning experience that is now $180 cheaper.
